Is there anyone out there with arachnoiditis that has had any luck with any treatment other the implanted pain pump and implanted stimulant pump. Even with these the pain remains at 8, legs are both numb. I make myself do things because all the doctors in my small area don't know what to do. Looking for suggestions. When you look this up everything you read says debilliting and that is not going to happen to me. I know I cann't return to my profession as dialysis RN, but I would be happy to get to at least clean part of my own house. 8>

  • I am not really sure what that even is. But I do understand what it is like being in so much pain that you can function very little. I just wanted to say hi and let you know that we are a great support group and hopefully somebody that suffers with the same as you will come along and offer some suggestions. Are you anywhere near a teaching hospital? They are usually up to date on all of the latest and greatest and I have known people that could not get help elsewhere but found help at a Medical University that is close to me. Sorry I wasn't much help. Good luck to you and please keep us posted on your progress.
  • Hi Carla,

How long has it been since you have had any diagnostic imaging done. Most especially on your neck?

So you currently have or have had an intrathecal pain pump and or an SCS? Where were the leads to the SCS located?

    Welcome to Spine Health.

  • Pain remaining at 10 even with all of my oral pain medication. Don't see the Pain Specialist in Billings, MT until the 24th of the month, then it will be the end of the year or the first of next year. Since we are not close to any teaching hospital or any other bigger area we have to live with what we get. Everybody have a great day and be Blessed. :&
  • My partner has had an implanted pain pump for the past 8 years as part of treatment for arachnoiditis. Let's just say that without the pump he would have probably killed hisself a long time ago as he was to that point.
  • arachnoiditis is a mean animal that doesn't stop . 24 years in and most people in my experience only last 20 years . Most people do check out on their own. good luck to all of you and will keep all in my prayers.
