I survived 14hours in the plane

Hi everyone. Just a quick update for all of you who have been helping me so much since my L5S1 herniation in April - well 3 months after my m.d. I nervously boarded the plane to Hawaii.

I made it!

I took my trusty back support chair thingy and got up and did a few laps of the plane and survived without any sciatic pain.

I had a wonderful holiday (just didnt go sky diving or surfing or anything stupid).

I was a little bit more uncomfortable on the way back, but nothing a little Lyrica didnt fix.

So i just wanted to post to give some hope to those of you in the same circumstances. I am also back at work as I can now sit longer than 2hours (a plus).

I hope you are all doing well.
Thanks again for all your help

  • :) it is really great to read of a successful recovery!! have you posted in "Good News?" i lived in Hawaii for about 4 years. what island did you go to? it is beautiful beyond words there! Jenny :)
  • I just went to Oahu....really just to soak in the sun and I do love Waikiki. Next time i will investigate the other islands i think.

I am no where near fully recovered, but this was a big milestone for me, and one i was a little bit worried about.

    All the best
