How do I use the QUOTE Function?

dilaurodilauro ConnecticutPosts: 11,347
QUOTE - Function to include all or parts of a previous post into the post that you are making. This function is also automatically set when you respond to Private Messages.

How to use:

When you are posting to a previous post, just click on
Quote at the bottom right of the post.
That will include the entire post and add it to your post.
It will be enclosed in a Shadow box to distinguish it from your post.
This function is automatic, you do not have to do anything.

You can also select what part of the person's previous post you want to include. This requires manual intervention

  • Been waiting for this function! If I want to quote someone, will it post directly under that box, or go to the bottom of the page in a new comment?

What I mean is, will it work the same as reply? I think replies get lost in the middle of the thread. If there are already 25 comments, and I reply to one in the middle, I think my reply is lost to people who have already read everything there, and go straight to the bottom.

    Does that make sense?

I think that editing the quote function may be confusing to some people. If we only want to quote a paragraph, do we need to manually type in html code?

Ok, no manual HTML needed, but doesn't go to bottom of page...
