Cervical Update - MRI Results

Wanted to post an update as some of you responded that you had similar symptoms after having a lumbar issue.

I had my cervical MRI today and then went straight to my surgeon for him to read the results. I have been having left sided neck stiffness and left arm pain in my elbow, bicep, wrist, thumb.

My xray showed decreased height between C6/C7 my doctor was worried about a herniation. My MRI showed no herniation - Yea! I have slight bulges but no nerve impingement and the nerves look good. I am going to start PT on my neck and he thinks this will help my arm pain. So my diagnosis was cervical DDD. Not really happy about that but what can I do to stop it from happening.

I am hoping that the therapy helps as it is really achy and sore down my arm. Anyone with additional suggestions would be appreciated!

  • Hiya,
Hey, thats good news about your MRI :) .I know what you mean about the sore elbow ~X( , when you raise your arm does it feel like its being pulled back down with pain? :''(

  • My bicep and wrist are the worse pain areas in my arm. I usually wake up OK and by mid morning they are aching and throbbing. My neck is still a little stiff. I originally thought that I had slept on it wrong but since it has been 5-6 weeks I was kind of giving up on the idea.

Since my MRI looks pretty good I don't know what else it could be. I am going to try to get my PT evaluation set up for the end of the week. Hopefully I will get some ideas from the therapist.

    I appreciate everyone's help!
