Hi all,

I have been trying to stay focused on good thoughts the last few days, but am very scared to have the Facet Block. I have had Epidurals and they didn't work for me. Can you get medication to help with the pain for during the injection? I just need to know what to ask. Its already set for Nov 10th. Thanks

  • fentanyl and versed during the procedure. Maybe you should call your doc and ask if a sedative is possible. I was also medicated afterwards in recovery. Did you have anything during the epidurals?
  • Hi, I have had epidurals and facet injections and I was always offered an IV with sedation. I declined it after the first time and just took my own xanax at home first. Just ask. All my injections were done at a surgery center which is standard practice for my PM doc. Good-luck

  • I found the facet block to be a heck of a lot easier than the ESI. I did both with nothing more than a local anesthetic.

    "C"
  • I also had facet block and ESI with nothing more than a local. Just a little uncomfortable, some pressure, and a small amount of pain, but really not that bad. And the facet block was much easier in my mind as well.
