I had an MRI done recently, and my doctor said that it looked great. When I read the report, however, it said something about an abnormal signal on the S1 nerve root at the L5-S1 disc - where I had surgery. (And this is exactly the dermatome that I have pain in my leg.) The MRI said also that there was scar tissue. Does anyone know if scar tissue could be mistaken for an actual rupture? Or if an MRI is 100% accurate? Just curious, since the pain is so severe after surgery. I guess I just want to be absolutely sure that my pain is from scarring and not another rupture, since a rupture could be removed.
