Hello! I am pretty new here. I can't remember if I introduced myself before or not. I just had cervical surgery 10 days ago and feel very good! I had arm numbnes and finger numbness plus all sorts of arthritis issues.

I had a Smith-Robinson anterior cervical diskectomy, excision of posterior, longitudinal ligament, and wide neural foraminotomy, C4-5, C5-6, C6-7. Some sort of cervical body fusion, autograft and Matrix C4-5 C-5-6- C6-7.
Implantation of prevail interbody cage C4-5 C-5-6 and C-6-7.Zephir titanium plate and screws C4-C7.
Reduction of Spondylolisthesis C4-5 and C 6-7.

I need no pain meds nor muscle relaxers. I am wearing a Cervical collar (soft) and walking about 2 miles a day.
I see the doctor in 5 days for my first x-rays and to check the stitches on my neck. I was in the hospital one night.
I am eating only health foods and proteins. I am using an alpha-stim 4-5 hours a day to speed recovery and will be going for acupuncture soon.

For my next act, I have lumbar surgery anterior-posterior scheduled on Dec. 1st. Same DDD disc issues. Had disectomy without fusion in 2000 with luck but now I need more. I am 57 years old. Please feel free to ask me questions.I was so worried about having surgery. Now, I am glad I did it!
So far, so good.
