Maverick Disc Replacement

I am interested in contacting people who are enrolled in the Maverick Artificial Disc Replacement Trials. I am eager to know if anyone is still in as much pain as I am. I was operated on in Jan of 2004 and have suffered with chronic/severe pain ever since. In Dec of 2003 I was told that my disc at L4 & L5 had degenerated to the point that what was left of my disc was pressing on my spinal cord. The surgery was "successful" as far as the placement of the disc, however, my life has now "degenerated" to the point that I am no longer able to work or to care for myself properly. Please contact me if you have experienced the same negative results from the Maverick Disc! Thanks! Joan Barwick

  • Have you looked at http://www.adrsupport.org/ as there are message boards, people posting their experiences with DR. Also check the surgery board in this forum.

I have heard about the Maverick trials, some issues with the discs inserted incorrectly I believe, and I know a few folks have posted here I think in the surgery board, may want to do a search, some success stories and a few not so success as it is with spine surgeries. Good luck to you.
