bone fusion

hey guys

wondering about bone fusion. as per my last xray on monday i could see the cadaver bone starting to fuse. wondering if anyone has had problems with only a small segment of the cadaver bone fusing. could this happen??

i noticed that the fuzzy shadow was small as compared to the dark area around the c1 c2 space (posterior). the fuzzy white did appear to be up to the c1 and down to the c2 but not as far inward towards the spinal cord.

any help or support would be appreciated. family doc told me not to worry and that it is fusing fine. just wondering what would happen if only partial fusion took place??

  • How far out post op are you?

My first fusion was July 05 which was 5-6-7. My upper level fused faster and my lower level was slowere. By the 15 week mark my x-ray showed fusion if I remember correct. Sometimes it is a little slow but it will happen. Complete fusion for me was 13 months though.

    Hang in there,

  • Not fusing can happen but it isn't very likely. It is still very early to tell. You are starting and that is a great sign!
