  • When I had my first MRI I was told I had a normal spine, by some yahoo. I later found out that a lot of the medical films were being read in INDIA by doctors over there for cost reasons.

Thankfully my family Doc referred me to my Ortho Spine Specialist anyways because of what he was seeing. I carried the MRI's to him by hand and He popped up the MRI and said, WOW you have a high level of herniation here, a tear here and here he said he did not know what was going on. It was a large white spot that they later determined was disc fluid puddling right on both of the nerves going down the legs. They said that the disc fluid is caustic and causes increased problems.

If you are in pain keep trying to find someone that will help. If is is work comp related good luck. I made the mistake of letting a Dr. pick a neurologist for me and he was terrible. He said nothing was wrong with me. I've had bad shaking in my legs and arms and I've had 2 seizures that they cannot explain. So i go to another Neuro in town and after he saw me he ordered an MRI of my head and neck. I got the MRI done in 3 days he thought it was so pressing. This was before he got the previous Dr's report. When I go in to see him the next visit he is very short with me and says there is nothing he can do for me and here is some medication you need to take and that was that. later I find out that the neuros both had a practice together in the past.

My wife found a lump in her breast a few weeks after getting her mammagrams done and getting the card saying everything is fine. Well come to find out she had breast cancer and THE PREVIOUS YEAR SHOWED IT IN THE MAMMOGRAM ALSO. We were showed BOTH years and WE could see it. THEN they said they cannot get a surgery room for 3 months for her surgery. I THREW A BIG OLD FIT and she had it in 2 weeks. I'm sorry but I think cancer surgeries should have priority over elective plastic surgery and other non emergency surgeries.

So the point is YOU have to be your own advocate for your health and fight till you get what needs to be done. I will tell you it is hard, very hard, especially when it comes to the pride of the doctors. They do not want to admit failure/mistakes AT ALL.
