  • In my opinion. Your explanation makes perfect sense as to why you use all caps. I must admit that I don't take the time to read most posts that are written in all caps, because it is difficult for ME to read. It sounds like the opposite is true for you. I agree with the others that maybe you should try changing the size of the text in your browser, and this will make reading a little easier. But if that doesn't help, just keep posting. In the whole perspective, all caps isn't that big of a deal.

  • Yeh, I’m still considered young by few 8} and old by many (|: and find it is hard to read all caps. I have seen people complain :''( about it on other websites and never thought about it. So I guess I don’t like CAPS, but I still like to here what’s going on. When I get OLD, I’m going to let my MAC read the posts to me 8} . Just need to figure out which accent I prefer. =D>

  • I just LOVE your Avatar!!!

Or should I say "PIXIE I JUST LOVE YOUR AVATAR!!" ?

That kitty looks like it is boxing. I love cats.

I have to agree that CAPS does indicate yelling, but only if preceded/followed by sentences or words that are done in lower case.

When I hand-write notes, I have always used all caps; I was asked what I was upset about once, but I still do it. I like capital letters. They are so much better than those wimpy lower case letters.... ;)

Also, I agree with the comment that as touchy about any and everything as pain can make a person (ok, as touchy as it can make ME) I am proud that we are able to maintain this forum.

Just goes to show that even though we disagree with each other from time to time, we're still a great bunch of people. Right?

  • I WAS A LITTLE TOUCH YESTERDAY ,MY SCIATICA IS ACTING UP BADLY, PLUS MY MRI scheduled today with 2 doctors appointments and thinking if im gonna make it back in time to pick up my son.TO BIONIC WOMAN: Thanks for posting even though i do not feel like i have to explain myself i will anyway. I been thru so much the past few weeks with specialist's, injections, tests etc. I still am waiting on an answer if surgery is a go or no. im on only vicodan for pain and a muscle relaxer at this time and been getting a few hrs of sleep a night due to the severe pain i been in. Plus feeling guilty not doing anything with my 2 yr. old in months so 3 weekends in a row i promised to take him before it got to cold to all the places he has been asking about; the zoo in philadelphia, the aquarium in camden, nj. and to the pleas touch me museum. well i am originally from phila. pa. but live upstated ny now, so it is along drive just to get to these places and the grandchildren alway come along they are 3 and 4 yrs old. well my son is in the terrible 2's and when he wants something he gets mad and throws himself down to the floor while im holding his hand,, boy does this rip my back out everytime, he just hangs on me and doesnt let me pick him up. 35 lbs may not seem like much but i was laid up each time for days. The sciatica aced up 4 days ago just from a kids movie in the 3d theater because my son fell asleep thru the whole movie on my lap and i couldnt move until it was over. i didnt want to ruin my grandchildren's fun by leaving. And as far as your comment about how i can read post in lowercase but write in caps. First i have a stigmatism and am near sited. i wear glasses while im on the computer. i can not sit in a computer chair for the past month so i lay in bed with my laptop. i bring the computer close to me when i read and to type i need to of course make room for my hands on the key board to be able to post. and as i said i am near sited so i can see fine close up but not far away, and i been getting teary eyed since i been getting numbness in the left side of my face with som vision disturbances. anyway it took forever but i was able to type this post but with some grammar mistakes but i didnt think i was being tested for that on here and no i dont use spell check all the time. an error is an error. like i said tpying this was very difficult right now my legs up and my neck crunched to be able to see the screen. Well i love the forum so since it took so long to type this im gonna do what makes me comftorable. because to me the more post i can repl to and help someone in need is better than typing 1 uncomfortable one to please a few offended people. pain is bad again now. is there a way to type in caps then like in ms word select all and change fonts and make everything lowercase??? any advice would help neck and shoulders and sciatica killing me now trying to explain my self to why i type in caps. AAAUUUUGGGGHH!!! OOOOUUUCCHHHH. NOW IM YELLING AT MYSLEF IN PAIN.. i would rather give advice to 10 members than struggle giving one cause of the way i type. im here to seek advice and to give back advice for people in need like myself. i hope i can get rid of this face numbness and eye tearing so i can be normal again.. but i would chose being able to do more with my son than worry about grammar school on the computer. Didnt mean to offend anyone with my typing skills...lolvreally, i dont check my mistakes when i type. find out tomorrow from nuerosurgeon if surgery is a go.

    Sincerely Dawn
  • You don't have to explain anything to me. I was compelled to answer the question, based on the topic. Normally, I wouldn't even have clicked into an all caps topic because it would likely have contained an all caps first post.

It's my point of view - no pun intended - and I know I'm not alone in that. I often wonder how many useful suggestions people miss because 1) many people don't read the all caps replies to receive suggestions that are offered and 2) people don't read the all caps postings to respond with helpful suggestions.

  • Well, caps only BOTHER me when my B/F does it to show me a point. While I admit that they are harder to read (I think because they are so close together&no change in size),I still read posts regardless of CAPS,grammer, typos, etc.

I believe that it is the words that mean the most..not HOW they are written ;))

.......Just about every other Internet relic I know personally will agree that..........
You calling me a relic? =))

I agree with you about not reading posts or threads that are started with all caps. It's a shame too, because that person obviously has something they want to say.

I have a difficult time reading the posts when they are all in CAPS. I guess my "relic" eyes are too used to black screen with green text and a flashing prompt.

Stockbroker, sorry you were offended when you were PM'd about all caps.

    "C"

  • Does not bother me at all. ;)
Matter of fact i also can see and read better with caps.
Especially in the middle of the night while meds are kicking in.
OR in bed like you say i put the laptop up close to me or its far away on my legs.

You do what is comfortable for you. ;) That goes for anyone on here. I can tell when someone is mad, or yelling at someone just by what is written.
Not if small or LARGE letters are used.

"C" you still saying you have that black screen with green letters"??? =)) =)) =)) bustin on ya darlin ;) We have one in the attic mabye it will gain value in years to come LOL

  • Black screen with green text and a flashing prompt..? Oh yeah, you're a total relic! :))( =))

And if this means anything to you, you're a relic with geek-ish tendencies.. :B

    10 CLS
    20 PRINT "C is a relic!"

Language! Always hated that. Just to get computer credits in college, had to take that even though I was already coding in Assembler.

    10 GOTO 20
    20 GOTO 10

    Nice way to handle things

(Of course this has nothing to do with CAPS or no Caps)
