Cervical SCS

Hello everyone. I have had 4 ACDFs with C2-4 and C5-7 being fused. Have pain in the mid back area and in the shoulders and neck along with headaches. Doc thinks, just did MRI and have not followed up yet, that most of the problems I am having are coming from C7-T1. He does not, and I agree, want to do another ACDF unless it is a last resort as I will have almost on mobility in my neck and I am only 49. He briefly mentioned the possibility of spinal stimulation last visit but wanted to see MRI before discussing it further. Have had 2 steriod injections in last month and a half with limited results.

Question I have is has anyone had the implants done in the cervical region and had luck with them? As Doc put it, there is a lot of high dollar real estate there.

Thanks for any help.

  • Okay, pros and cons that you are aware of?
  • Sorry it took me so long to answer your post. I've been busy out enjoying life and doing the family holiday thing, all because of my cervical SCS!!! I love it and would be a basket case without it.

Basically I have 2 percutaneous leads that were placed in through C7-T1 and run up a tad bit to cover as much of my neck, shoulders and arms as possible. I have one lead slightly lower than the other to capture my hand real well.

I have had this SCS running strong for over 6 months now and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have a life again.
