Hi, I'm new to site. I'm 35 years old and have an L5 disc herniation. It's a repeat injury. The first occured while I was 6 months pregnant 3 years ago. I had to wait until I had my daughter by c section until I could have surgery. It was torture while I was pregnant b/c i could not take anything for the excruticiating pain. It took about 6 months after the surgery but finally most of the pain subsided. Well, about a month ago I went for a light jog & the next day I literaly could not move. The pain to my left buttock, leg and foot returned, an MRI confirmed a 6mm bulge at the old surgical site. The pain is so severe that it's making me depressed. I can't play with my daughter who is now 3 and that is the most upsetting. Also I started a new job and I don't want to ask for time off if I need another surgery! I am going to an osteopath (D.O) next week and am hoping she will be conservative in treatment. My husband bought me an inversion table today and I tried it tonight thinking it might be an answer to my prayers but it made my pain so much worse and now my leg is tingling! This is my story. I feel for all those w/ chronic pain.
