My back pain is always in my thoracic area, so what could be causing the burning sensation in my left buttock that I've had for the past week or so? It's not there consantly and I've never had this before.

  • I too will have some siatic pain, after sitting for too long, esp. driving. My pain has been from the neck down to the bottom of the rib cage for two years. When I have spoken to the pain docs, i don't even mention it, i don't want to seems like I am 'all over the place' And since it is not constant like the other's i can live with it. Maybe they are related, maybe at my next appt. I will mention this -
  • Maybe you and Baffled have developed new problems in your lumbar region. You should mention it to your doctor and perhaps he may order an MRI. It's common to have multilevel problems in your spine. I have DDD and bulging discs in all areas, but the worst is in L4-S1. I had a 2 level fusion and laminectomy 6 months ago for quite a few problems. I hope you get a diagnosis for this sciatic pain.
