I Broke My FOOT

So now I am in a Miami-J collar AND a post-op shoe. I have a broken foot and a black eye on TOP of my recovering from my 3 lvl ACDF surgery. Will the fun never end?
I was walking to my kitchen yesterday morning. I had my collar off because I was changing the pads. It was a little dark and I was looking for the little hallway light we have. So I was leaning to look for that and BAM right into the wall.
I hit really hard and was stunned. I went back to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and my eye was swelling shut and was already BLACK. My vision was really fuzzy. I didn't realize at that time that my foot was hurt. I was so freaked out about my neck. So I got dressed and went to put on a shoe and OH MY GOSH, I knew then I was in trouble. :''(
Hubby is out of town, so I limp to the car and drive to the hospital and tell them what happened and they got me right back. Good thing he was out of town or they probably would have arrested him the way I looked! :))(
They x-rayed my face, neck and foot. No orbital fracture, my neck is fine, but my foot is broken.
So I am in a post-op shoe which I ALSO get to sleep in and I'm back with a walker because I can't use crutches. And also back on pain meds. Plus, I just started back to work and I had to call and tell I couldn't come in AGAIN!
Good Lord!

  • I am sorry to hear that you have been through so much darling. I think it may be time for things to turn up for you now. Life tends to be cyclical, in my experience. I hope that your foot heals quickly and correctly!

    One Love,

    Stephanie
  • When it rains, it poors! Wow, how unfortunate. But on the positive side it is so great that your neck is doing so well you were able to return to work, if ever so briefly. Also thank God you didn't injure your neck in the incident, especially with your brace off. Now hang in there and things will get better. >:D< Cali-Sue

  • Sorry Phxchele,
that was a bad break (no pun intended). I'm so glad you did not injure your neck but bad luck on the foot. Please be careful as it heals.

  • It is a miracle you didn't hurt your neck! My goodness, you poor thing! Just hang in there. It sounds like you have the right attitude!

  • . . . to hear of your accident. I'm sure you were scared as heck about your neck (I would be!). A neck brace and a shoe -- not fun sleeping, I'm sure.

I'm glad, however, you're okay. Hard to keep a sense of humor sometimes, isn't it?
  • you weren't meant to go back to work so early :))(
I am sorry this has happened through and hope you feel better soon.
Make the most of your confinement.
    Blessings Sara O:)
  • I can't believe this happened to you. Just when things were going so well... ~X(

Take it easy and I hope your foot heals quickly and I'm SOOOO happy your neck is ok. How scary.

I'm thinkin' of you, my surgery twin. Take care of yourself!! >:D<
