Today I am overjoyed. It was 4:30p.m. today that I received the call from the Appeals Specialist with my insurance company and she had good news. After a 30 day battle, my surgery was finally approved. So I cannot wait until Monday when my surgeon's office opens so I can make the call. I encourage everyone if you're fighting your insurance company.....BE PERSISTENT!!!!

So, can anyone tell me about the recovery time for a Non-Invasive Lumbar Fusion. I was told I would receive staples instead of stitches :SS and I would be in the hospital for about 3 days or so.

  • Congrats on getting the approval <:P I fought with my insurance company from Feb 08-end of Aug 08 to get artificial disc replacement and they would not approve it becaust it was experimental/investigational. I went as far up the ladder as I could even the NYS Insurance Dept but ended up having a fusion instead.<br />
Good luck on the surgery. I don't know much about that surgery to offer you any advice.
  • I am so happy that your persistence paid off. Just imagine how many people give up. I think that these insurance companies count on it.

  • Do you know anything about the recovery for a Non-Invasive Posterior Lumbar Fusion?
