I have recently been diagnosed with neuropathy. i have pain on the top of my foot that feels like my foot is being t. had cortizone shot and did not work, i have not been able to return to work because the pain hits now every hour. i have discovered that if i soak my foot in extremely hot water the pain goes away, it it comes back after a while, sometimes over an hour. i dont know what this is, i am taking neuronting 300mg 3 times a day and does not work, vicodin, soma and nothing, i started soma today, please healp i cant find what the problem is. waiting for results of nerve conduction and have apt with neurologist

  • I had 3 epidurals and it helps my footpain. Also I take Lyrica 600 mg a day. I would try heat pad rather than hot water. You wouldn't want to burn your foot especially if it's a bit numb. I rest my foot on the heating pad and also use my magnet elbow brace on my foot and i think it's helping. Do you have a herniated disc? I'm also off work because of the back and foot. Hope you find it a supportive place like I have. Take care. Charry

    P.S. I love Florida

  • Have you had any back surgery and how long have you experienced the neuropathy? Neurontin is okay, but Cymbalta and Lyrica are better in controlling those symptoms. The worst for me is the muscle spasms, electric, burning, shooting, and crushing pain mainly in my right leg. What has helped me was using a heating pad like Charry said. Cold and changes in weather tend to aggravate nerve pain, as well as being in certain positions, like sitting. Welcome, and we look forward to having you here. Take care
