  • An educated guess would be midnight tonight. I've never heard of fasting more than 24 hours before surgery. 8-12 hours is plenty of time for your stomach to empty, which is what they want.
  • oh okay thank you becuase i was all worried that it might be cancelled since i ate today and i need this surgery bad :W

  • I've had many surgeries including my recent 6 hour PLIF/laminectomy. Instructions are to stop eating as of midnight the night before surgery. That would be tonight. I am on high blood pressure meds and was able to have a "sip" of water to swallow my medication with the day of surgery but that was it. I'm assuming the same is true for you but I'm sure if you have any last minute questions, your doc's nurse will be able to answer them for you.
