  • I had it done at kettering hosp in kettering ohio and I got alot of doctors that I see and not one of them haves the same anser for what is wrong with me but all they do is give me more pills some work and some dont
  • Hey Danny' what artificial disc was used? I had mine done in illinois and they used the flexicore that was not yet aprooved by the fda. It was a clinical trial. I also went to many doctors and none of them had the same answer. So i have to somewhat rely on what the 2nd doctor said when he fused the same level and said the nerve was damaged a litle, To me a litle is a lot of pain cause it dont take a lot to damage a nerve for it to hurt and burn. i think it is posible that the only thing they might do for you also is to fuse it because there aint nothing else that can be done for it. They cant take the new disc out cause it is dangerous because of the scar tissue left behind from the disc replacement in the front. As long as there is no nerve damage they may have to fuse it and maybe it would help, but i am not realy sure.End result is disc replacement was a waste of time, should of just went with the fusion if at the end it ends up being fused anyway like me probably. Hope you get some answers. let me know what they say.

  • Hello,

Just an update on my condition.
The problems I had with my facet joints have disappeared completely in the middle of March.
But... Things are far longer from good.
At the same time the facet pain has gone... Sciatica came back. This time, on the left side where I had never suffered from.
From March till now, no progress has happened on sciatica. I'm living with NAIDs and I have also taken cortisone for 1 month.
Both have dimmished my pain, but everytime I leave the meds pain is unbearable.
My surgeon asked for an MRI that showed no recurrent hernia. It was only found a big inflammation at the surgery site (all tissues). Surgeon says this inflammation is causing my pain.

Has anyone suffered from sciatic pain caused by inflammation after microdiscectomy?

This is really bad... I'm struggling with this for 1 year! Hernia was found in June 2008, Surgery was performed on 14th November 2008 :( I'm getting exausted.

    Kind Regards,
    Pedro Rosas
