  • I had similar problems last fall. I ended up having C5/c6 fusion in March 08. It took away all the numbness and pain from my neck and shoulders. I know I was lucky, when reading posts I really appreciate my surgery success. Recovery was about 4 months, I went back to work at about 6 weeks. Work was tough the first couple of weeks, but was easier as time passed. I would try all non-surgical procedures but if that fails find a good surgeon, one that specializes in spines. You may have choices as to the specialist, I had a neuro spine specialist but now am seeing an orthopedic spine specialist for my lower back issues. He also does neck but I did not know that when I was having the neck issues. I know sometimes insurance dictates who you can see. I am certainly not a doctor, this is just what happened to me. I hope you find relief.
