Has anyone ever experienced swallowing difficulties after an anterior cervical surgery?
Has anyone had an adjacent herniation related to the fusion? On my c6 level in the operative report (which is where the screw is backing out) it say's my bones are very small & there was very little room to place the screw.
Thank you for any input

  • I have just had my 3rd cervical fusion. I had a flare of Graves disease after my first(c6-7), and swallowing issues after my second which was c5-6. I went for Speech therapy finally after about 2 years and three episodes of choking. Had my husband not been available to perform the hiemlik, you know,I would have died in the resturant. I also believe one leads to the next. My last was c4-5 and I have something showing at c7-T1, but no one is talking about it.
