Hi Guys...Just after a bit of help as I had a discogram yesterday on C3/4,C4/5 and C5/6 and now have heaps of pain in my shoulders..Has this happended to anyone else thats had one???

  • I did not have a discogram for my cervical spine but I did have C5/6 ACDF last March and a lot of my pain when recovering was in my shoulders. So I would imagine that would be where you can have the pain.
I would contact your doctor when you can and make sure. I hope this helps and I hope the pain goes away quickly.
I have a lumbar discogram tomorrow.
    Take care,
  • Thanks so much for that stacey, it helps heaps...Good luck with yours today...I had L4/5 and L5/S1 replaced and fused last year after the discogram found more damage.

    Take care and good luck

  • In most of my research all of the articles are about lumbar discograms. I want to receive information (not ads) but from Spine-Health doctors about the cervical discogram procedure, more about the procedure (as I understand I am almost full conscious during it to communicate with the doctor in charge); about the recovery -- 72 hours; months?? Frustrated because I am not finding the information I am searching for. Thank you, anyone! Of course it would help to hear from someone who had the procedure and what the post-procedure experience has been. Margaret

  • I just had a discogram done on Tuesday, granted it was a lumbar. It is now Friday and I finally don't have any procedure pain just the same pain I had before the procedure. My doc put me to sleep to insert the needles in my discs. He then woke me up so that I could tell him, as he was injecting the dye, when it hurt. The pain from the procedure was the worst pain I've ever had. it subsided after some demerol, something else they gave me in my IV, and a lortab. It did not completely go away until today.

    Single level L5/S1 360 fusion with 6 screws and a rod (10/29/12)
Diagnosis: Grade 1-2 spondylolithesis, Pars Defect, L5/S1 disc tear anterior and posterior, DDD, spinal stenosis
