Questions on Cervical Laminectomy

I had a cervical laminectomy last week C-3 thru C-6. I know my neuro also got rid of bone spurs. He did the left side since that is where my pain is.

What I forgot to ask him was if he put hardware in. I know hardware is put in if both sides are done. I don't know if it is put in if only left side is done.

I would think he would have told me before hand if he had.

Any thoughts>

  • Hi I agree I would have thought you would have been told. I had a three level laminectomy without hardware. Its was a slow recovery so hang in there. Take CARE.
  • Hi Paul:

Yes, in fact, there was cervical myelopathy caused by the stenosis.

Well, when i see my neuro next week I'll ask him some questions that had not occured to me before. I have to write them down or I forget.

    Thanks much for your reply,
