Hi i had a micro-d L-4-5 On march 10 -09. Prior to that i had a injury in 06 with leg nerve pain.Had Mri revealed herniation at L-4. I had 3 rounds of Pt. Tried injections, they do temporarily work long enough to hurt yourself worse. Tried decompression, does not work, may make you taller. Still have low back, and nerve pain in right leg in morining. Does seem better as day goes on. I guess it is a slow healing process i hope

  • Back injuries seem to be the slowest healing process ever don't they...I hate it.
  • Hang in there.

Have patience and you'll be well enough to be told by your PT to not do certain things because you feel so well and are convinced that you can do everything!

I was feeling so well a few months after my micro-D I tried to convince my Phy Therapist to let me ride a bike (but they're right and I should not.........at least not yet!)

  • I found www.chiroguy.com a useful site for herniated discs and healing time. I'm out of work 14 months waiting to heal on my own. Age may be against me though it seems I have arthritis all over since I got this herniated disc. (48) I'm sure it's a viral thing although lots of controversary about that. Take care. Charry

  • i had a lami-disc on 3/2/09 and am still having some nerve pain. Some days are worse than others, although today is my first full day without any meds at all! Yay! I was feeling that awful burn in my bum this a.m., did my stretches, walked for 90 minutes and feel no pain at the moment. Go figure. Walk, walk, walk. I've been converted! Maybe tomorrow will try my bike? Yikes, but exciting! Good luck, keep your head up, and walk.
