Hello! I have been reading postings for a while, but am the shy quiet one in the room. Thank you for your postings! I feel real comforted by reading them and realizing my insomnia is not abnormal. I absolutely cannot sleep b/c of nerve pain. Like many of you, I have been taking 75 mg (Lyrica) at night and it used to help, but the last few days it hasn't. I was prescribed 150mg but have not tried taking it during the day because of fear of how it will affect my work performance.
I had an accident on New Years Eve day (2008) where I was thrown off a horse. Shattered my L1. I am very lucky to have survived it as well as I have. Immediately after the fall, both legs were completely numb and the doc said I am real lucky i can walk. I do have distracting nerve pain on my outer left leg, foot and saddle area are still numb.
Like many of you, I am taking Lyrica, but fear taking the full dose. I am a psychologist and worry about memory loss interfering with my work. Albeit, prior to having Lyrica prescribed, I found myself focused a little too much on my foot--meaning I have a problem, not knowing which is the worst evil. Does anyone have any advise?
Also, besides the Lyrica, I take Detrol la for bladder incontinence. Today I had my hair cut and my hairdresser noticed that I am missing hair in two areas on the back of my head, both circles and the size of quarters. Has anyone else had a problem like that?
Thank in advance!
Warmly, Angela

  • hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. i use Lyrica daily as well, 300mg. :D of course i have had some weight gain and sleepiness!! i have noticed my hair is thinner but i attributed that to aging and not the Lyrica. that is a thought!! perhaps your stress level is up and that caused some hair loss.. :? i have had major relief with the Lyrica! =D> more than with anything else, ever!! :D i hope you can find some balance that meets with your pain requirements and work schedule.. good luck and keep us posted!! drop by the "Sleep Problems" forum one night! it can make the night seem alot shorter!!
