Hi everyone, I have been looking at this site for some time now and have read many wonderful post from others. I wanted to take the time to join and hope to meet some wonderful new friends here.

I am a 49 year young mother/grandmother, with a wonderful husband whom I have been married to for 23 years now. I have two beautiful daughters that are the greatest help to me and try so hard to understand all that I am going through each day.

The brightest things in my life are my hubby, kids and wonderful grand daughter Madi. She is about to turn 1 next week and has brought so much joy and happiness to all of our lives.

As you can see from my signature that I have multiple health problems that create a lot of pain for me. I have been through many doctors and the whole line of "IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD" deal.

It took doctors about 10 years to finally do an MRI on my back to find what was causing me so much back pain. Within 3 weeks of the first MRI I had my 1st back surgery. I promised myself that I would never do that again, but I am going to have to deal with it once again. I really don't want to go in that Wheelchair just yet.

I hope to get to know everyone and really am looking for friends who know what it is like to live in constant pain.

  • Welcome here, already talked to you in chat, but just wanted to say "hello" here too!

  • Welcome to SH :H Sorry to hear you've been having so much pain, and surely your other health conditions make things complicated for you. It's always good to hear that someone has a wonderful, beautiful family and that they're very supportive. Are you being treated at a pain mgt clinic? Have they discussed putting in a neurostimulator or morphine pump? I'll be having a permanent placement of a pump soon and I can't wait. So far it hurts to do anything and I spend all my time in bed because it hurts to sit, stand, walk, drive, etc. If you have any questions feel free to ask and we look forward to having you in this community. Take care >:D<

  • Hi AlwaysAchin,

I had C5/6 and L4/5 fusions last year. I also have OA and RA. My rheumatologist thought my neck pain for two years was due to fibromyalgia. I started having major problems and saw his assistant for an emergent visit. She ordered an MRI. Well, no it wasn't fibromyaglia, but herniations, stenosis, etc. Sometimes it is hard to get validation for your pain. I'm 51, mom of 2 sons and 1 stepdaughter, but no grandchildren. Please PM me anytime if you wish or join me in chat. I am there quite often.
