I am so happy I found this site and read the posts for tips and must-haves for recovery after surgery.

My fusion surgery is scheduled for 7/2, and I have my grabber, satin sheets, slip on shoes, etc. all ready to go. I never would have thought of some of these things on my own.

Thank you all! I will let you all know how it goes :)

  • Do you have a garbage bag to put on the passenger seat for the ride home? It really makes getting in the car much easier. It also helps when you start driving again. Good luck and success to you!

Oh, I forgot about that one. I will have my husband put one in the car. That will definitely be a must have for the ride home from the hospital!

    Thanks!!

  • I have seen conflicting posts on the garbage bag on the car seat. If someone hits the brakes hard you have the chance of your butt sliding forward while your upper body is stationary. I would suggest just being careful getting in and out of a car with assistance.

    GOOD LUCK
