How long will I be so swollen??

I had a 360 fusion on Sept 15- 7+hour surgery. I have been so swollen from my tummy to my toes. How long until I see the swelling go down? I have heard that it will take awhile and to expect a week for each hour in surgery. Is that accurate?

Thank you~

  • Hi Shannon,

I am sorry but I can't give you any relevant advice as far as your swelling, as I only had posterior fusion. But considering you had your 7-hour surgery not quite 3 weeks ago, it is probably expected. But if you are overly concerned about it, give a call to your surgeon's office and they should be able tell you if this is acceptable.

    Good luck,

    Kin
