back surgery

edited 06/11/2012 - 8:38 AM in Matters of the Heart
First time here. Last month I was being wheeled in operating room for a Laminectory, one level fusion, L4,L5,S1, when I begin having some chest pain. Got a EKG right there and it didn't look good. Reason is I had to go off blood thinners for 10 days. A few days later I had a Angioplasty and I'm find now. However, my Doc's said I will have to keeping taking aspirin for back surgery. Surgeons don't like that--a little more risk, but was told they will take steps to minimize risks. Does anyone out there have had back surgery while still taking aspirin?
How did it go? I'm 66, and otherwise in good health.
Thanks for any help,
