I am new to this. Wish I would have found this site prior to my surgery.
I have a question about how long you normally follow-up with your surgeon post operatively.
I had a 360 fusion L4 l5 in May and my Physican says that I am MMI from a surgical standpoint after initially saying I would follow up for at least 1yr.
Mine is a convuluted messed up work comp issue and was just wondering!!!!!!!

  • every three months for a year. After one year, he told me to come back the following year for a check up

    3 level spinal fusion, L3/4, L4/5, L5/S1, November 2008. Stiff, but I can walk.
  • and I go back once a month.......uuhhhggg- I had surgery in Sept and have had 3 sets of xrays done but for my Dec follow up I do not need to get them. I was told my NS follow up every 2 months for the first year. I too am WC I dont want jinx myself into saying anything positive or negative. But I will say the last month has been interesting. I was release to return to work, but my employer doesn't want to accommodate my light work duty (keep in mind that I have an office position). So they have to continue paying TTD. I was also told by my NS that she will go back in at 10mos and remove the hardware-I started to fuse by the 3rd week.
When did you have surgery? Are you finished with all of your PT? How long did you do PT?

  • I had my 360 fusion done in early April of 2007. Saw surgeon every 2 months, along with CT scans and flex extension Xrays and was released in early December.

Emergency surgery in March of 2006 for spinal infection of L 2 and L 3. During surgery, discovered I had Cauda Equina Syndrome. Spine became unstable after surgery and had 360 fusion with 10 pedicle screws, plates and rods in April of 2007.
