Using crystals for healing

Is anyone on the forum into using crystals for healing? I know this may sound silly, but lately it has been brought to my attention and I've been reading a lot and looking into the metaphysical properties of crystals. Believe me, I'm normally very skeptical of things like this but after reading quite a bit... I want to give it a shot. What harm can come of it, besides making my wallet a bit thinner?

I'd love to know if anyone else is into this. It's hard to find credible websites with information.

  • I have heard many people have success with crystals for various issues. Maybe do some more research on the web. Sometimes these things can be mind-over-matter, or really work; but either way, if they work who cares how?
  • I totally agree.

I'm trying to find out info on the web, but so many websites have conflicting information. I'm getting frustrated and can't even find a forum to join so I can post as a beginner. Well, I found 2 forums but they were impossible to navigate and had like no members. :(

  • I began making gemstone jewelry a few years ago and became interested in their spiritual qualities. For my lumbar fusion I brought a satchel of healing crystals(I call them stones)in my overnight bag. Before and after surgery I practiced chakra balancing by placing certain stones on each of the 7 chakras. Over time I really have noticed how wearing certain stones can enhance my personality. Like lapis, when I wear it I feel more confidant and outgoing. There are some great books that help you find the right stones for you. I don't know if I can name book titles on here, but if they delete them just PM me if you'd like the titles. One is titled Love is in the air- A kaleidoscope of crystals by Melody. It is very informative and has over 700 pages. It shows what stones are best for you according to your birthday etc. And The essential crystal handbook by Simon and Rue Lily. This is the one that shows healing stone layouts and chakra cleansing etc. I hope I've helped. Have some fun with it! This is one treatment that definitely can't hurt you!

  • Um...okay. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it could be all in your head. Having said that, some rocks may have magnetic qualities that may scientifically have an impact. I'm not sure.

I believe in whatever increases blood flow to the disc through the vertebral endplates. That nutrition in the disc is what heals it. JMO FWIW.

can be an additional resource you can use in making you feel better.
There are many natural products that have been used and can be used to deal with acute and chronic pain.

Just think back about 300 years, there were no pharmacies the way we know them today, doctors were far and few between, so turning towards natural healing methods seemed perfect.

Almost any action that can increase blood flow in a troubled area is going to provide some relief.

I can not and do not question another person's belief in one item or another. The only thing I will say is that no matter what thing you are taking, it should be discussed with your doctor.

On a Fall hike looking for natural healing remedies, I was introduced to a bark of a tree that had natural anti-inflammatory properties. Before I used it, I talked this over with my main doctor. She said, there would be no harm or conflicts with your current medications, so give it a try.

Didnt matter if it worked or not, my point is that
you always need to discuss with your doctor what you are taking or what you are planning to take

  • I hear cherries have great anti-inflammatory agents too.

I am leery on the crystals thing. Doesn't mean it won't work for some people...

I just wish I was one of those people..
  • But not just any cherries! The ones with the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties are tart (sour) cherries...and they lose the healing properties when cooked, so eating lots of cherry pie won't help! :O
  • I LOVE cherry pie!

I also love Raw cherries too. So... Bing cherries aren't the ones?
  • Nose if you can hold off for a little while I will be thrilled to help you with this. I have quite a large collection of healing stones/crystals and will be happy to help you get started. If you jump in with both feet you may find yourself overwhelmed.

It is a lot like the traditional medical world we all now know but just a different path of knowledge - meaning there is a lot to learn.

Please do take this 1 piece of advice and don't buy any stones yet. There are a TON of fakes out there :(

My daughter ( who also has a back injury ) is going into the hospital this coming Monday to be induced into labor having her 5th child. I will be staying at her home - NO INTERNET there :jawdrop: lol and helping with my grand kids for several days.

IF I forget and about 10 days have passed PLEASE send me a message reminding me to help you take a few steps towards this.

I will say this - you will know quickly if this "jives" with you and how you feel about it ;)
