HI everyone-

I am a "new" old member.I am a 38 yr old mother of four daughters (hence the name, lol)and have been married for 20 yrs last week. I enjoy most any activity outdoors, camping, walking, etc. and love to decorate cakes. I used to be on Spine Health often, prior to my ACDF (c6-c7) two years ago. After surgery...I felt on top of the world and was kept very busy in nursing school for a year and a half. Now....unfortunately...for the past 9 months to a year...have been back to suffering pain. :-( I came back to Spine Health for the kind of support only a group like this can offer. Not many people who are not in pain can understand what it is like day in and day out to feel this way. I hope I can be of help to others as well as gain some knowledge myself.

  • Welcome back to Spine-Health, but I'm so sorry that your cervical problems have come back again.

So, what's happening? What pain are you suffering? Have you had an MRI or seen your surgeon?

I see you've already made three posts, so maybe I'll just go read those and see if there are some answers there.

    Take care,
  • I'm a 40yo mum to two girls aged 4 and 6 and I also love cake decorating.
I specialise in childrens cakes, I find it so much fun and rewarding.
Do you do it for fun or business?
Sorry to hear you're having problems again, please take care and welcome back!

  • Kylie-
    My girls are ages 18, 16, 13, and 9.
I have never taken lessons or anything but have done cakes for friends and family. I do all kinds of cakes.. I have done quite a few wedding cakes...but my favorite to make are for baby showers. Just something about making them that i like, lol. Maybe we could swap ideas sometime.
  • Kylie- Is that a picture of one of your cakes? I just noticed your picture. That looks amazing! Would love to see more pics.PM me sometime if you wanna talk cakes. Jeanne
  • been game enough to do wedding cakes, i've never had lessons either. I've done a two cakes (for the same girl) for a christening that was a lot of fun as I got to use my creative flair.
Are you on facebook, I have all my cakes on facebook perhaps we can bounce off each other.
I haven't advertised, but i'm gradually getting busier just by word of mouth, so that's nice.
And my four year old just started pre-school, both her teachers are already lining me up for cakes and they said i'll get a lot of orders through pre-school.
Not sure whether my pain is up to it but it's nice to have something I can do again.
Read your other post, your doing it tough right now, must be hard to look after your girls. Some days I find it near on impossible to function.
