  • I'm sorry your husband hasn't had his MRI yet. Is he on something for the pain? Please try heating pad or hot water bottle though good if he can soak in the tub or shower. He should be drinking water lots also. I rarely drank water before only colas which are a no no and too much caffeine. Please see the Doctor to review his pain levels. I hope he's able to walk a little and use a walker as it's more sturdy than a cane. Do take care of yourself. Chary

  • I had hip pain and was originally misdiagnosed with bursitis in my hips, but in actuallity, it was L4-5. Hope this is helpful! Good luck and I hope your hubby gets the help and relief he needs! Shari
  • With lower lumbar disc issues, it is quite common to have some hip pain. People often think they have a hip problem, like bursitis when in reality it is the referred pain coming from the lumbar spinal nerve that is being compressed.

Is your husband icing his lower back? Sometimes this can provide quite a bit of pain relief.

Is he under the care of a spine specialist? I hope he can have some imaging done soon.
  • thanks for your messages just a quick up date just to let you all know my husband knee clicks all the time and his hip still give away as anyone else have this from ddd

  • Yes my knee clicks sometimes and I have DDD. I had an x-ray last year and I have arthritis in my knee and my foot also. I'm getting epidurals and facet joint injections and take Cymbalta for hip and leg pain. I hope your husband has a good Pain Management Dr. Take care. Charry
