This is an old thread, but I like that it is here.  I had a failed fusion, L3/L4 and L4/L5, in April, 2015.  Like the racingjunkie, we tried playing around a bit after three weeks, but I never really got to the point where I was enjoying sex, even though my husband is great about massaging my sore back before proceeding to the "happy ending". ;)   This is one of my biggest disappointments with having this surgery.  Pre-surgery, even with the leg and hip pain that I had, I was "good to go" three, four, even five times a week.  (There's a reason we raised five kids!!)
Now, just once or twice a week is rather painful to me, and I can't participate the way I used to.  I'll be having a revision surgery in October, and I hope that I have better news to report on this thread after recovery.

My husband is having problems having sex now.  He is needs to have a fusion, but he is waiting until spring....I am just wondering, will it get better after the fusion?  I am very hopeful, the reduction in pain and stress will make a difference....
