9 weeks post surgery;4 weeks of PT .Walking 3 miles a day without pain .
Pre surgery pain is 99% gone .Some discomfort in my back BUT still having numbness on left thigh that I did not have pre-surgery

  • It sounds wonderful to see your results!!! I haven't had back surgery yet, but have had abdominal - sliced hip to hip. I still have areas that are numb just from the little nerves that were cut during surgery. Hopefully it is just the little nerves? It sounds like you are doing sooooo good though! :)

    PCTF C4 - T2, Laminectomies C5, C6 & C7. Severe Palsy left arm/hand.
  • What kind of surgery did you have? It's taken me over a year and a half to recover from my fusion, and I doubt that I could walk three miles comfortably even now. I get better and better every day, but I'm not superwoman by any means.

    3 level spinal fusion, L3/4, L4/5, L5/S1, November 2008. Stiff, but I can walk.

    L4-5 Discectomy

My doctor gave me the okay to ride on public transportation ,to be in the car as long as necessary ,to sit on a chair as long as I need to .

I hope to be on a train soon .I have not been to a movie theater in a year .
  • It's good to hear such a positive post surgery outcome. Hope you continue to heal completely. TC. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN

  • Sounds like you are well on your way to your new, improved life! And that is after only 9 weeks.
    Sounds very promising.

Keep it up, but do mind you don't over do it.

I have realised today (14 weeks post surgery), that I am starting to feel better than I have in over 3 years! :D

    Doesn't it feel great?
