  • The way I see it is I do atkins during the week and then am relaxed on the weekend. I don't go overboard but eating a sandwich gives me a little more normalcy to make the week-days easier.

Ok, that being said....I haven't been doing that great with Atkins but have instead been trying to eat less...but today, I splurged. BOO!

I'm still net-net the same but I have to watch b/c next week I'm taking 'vacation' meaning I'm not working. At work, we get subsidized lunch and it's all healthy - fish, grilled chicken, veggies, etc. At home, I have to put thought into it so I have good stuff readily available.

My goal next week is to increase my walking so that when I'm bored, I take a walk first, then drink water, and then decide if I'm really hungry.

So, what to do about chocolate cake?
Find a bakery that sells cake by the slice. Yes, you will pay more but to me it's worth it to get "a single slice" and avoid the temptation of the entire cake.

On a positive note - had a physical and my blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. is all excellent. My husband's cholesterol is a bit higher so because of him, I'm having to be more careful on my dinner cooking which should be win-win for both of us.

    Stick with it.
