Side pain

I'm new to the forum, so pardon me if I duplicate any issues. I'm 67 and as of two years ago have severe stenosis at L4-5 with the combination of anterolisthesis, wide disc protrusion and bilateral facet hypertropy. Also mild wide disc protrusion at L2-3. Not sure what all of it means. Also I recently have been having spinal discomfort in the lower thoracic area. That is the background; my issue today is substantial pain at my left waist, particularly when I rise from sitting, and from what it most likely stems. Anyone have information about this side pain? My back surgeon and the pain specialist really weren't forthcoming. :?
