  • hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can.as you can see you are already making new friends and finding out facts here on SH. good luck with your pain problems. stop by anytime. Jenny :)
  • yeah thats how they found the tumor by accident when checking my cervical.but no doc even my pain doc will not listen they blow it off saying that it will cause no problems that everyone is born with them?if the docs had to go through these thins they might change what they say.they say with the ddd that it should not hurt or cause any problems but when you have bone on bone rubbing together it hurts.but i have come to except these issues because they are not going to do anything about them but i wish they would check into this tumor i looked it up and there is 3 diff types and i dont have a clue what mine is.do you know anyone that has had one that could tell me something about it?thanks bunches for responding good to have someone to talk to.

  • and so glad that you found S-H forum. I see you have had, much like me, years of spine issues and yes I sure agree with you, it creates major losses in our life and truly grieving for the ways it affects our life mentally and physically. And you fully know it truly is "hard stuff" when it really restricts us from being the "always active" to not being able to do so many of the things we could do and love to do!

Flower, I liken it to us being "Spine Warriors" for the courageous challenge it is and the ways we continue to live keep on keeping on and in spite of conditions/disease, surgeries, long recoveries, adapting and adjusting to living life as well as we can and not losing the spirit of life, in spite of our spine challenges!

Your sharing the roller-coaster of learning to "adjust and work things differently" and then...to have things change... and "get worse again. has been my path as well especially in the past 5 yrs with my C-spine and with unfortunately a motor vehicle accident 3 yrs ago.

I believe you'll find some great people, "spineys" who truly do understand the challenges, the path and who truly become #1 support in facing the challenges that are as you are experiencing, and this is a good place to give and receive support with the uncertain spinal path!

  • thanks for your kind posts
janelle , i like your spine warrior analogy and i can say i have for 30 yrs been a warrior dealing with my spinal pain/ restrictions /adaptations. but 2 years ago, when i thought it couldnt get too much worse, well it did, and now i feel like im losing the battle.

  • straker, thanks for the welcome :) yes that beast the pain, u no when its that bad (as you no) thats when i wish anybody , some body would just cut into my spine and fix it. i think a lot of you can prob relate to that. my NS says i have to have the fusion that ive been putting off, and i also need more fusions on other levels too. like you,im extremly limited in what i can do, but I AM very concerned of the outcome of going thru with them.
.Im really pleased for you that youve found a surgeon that will be able to help you. best wishes
