Hi, I just found this site after years of searching for information on Degenerative Disc Disease. I was diagnosed with this condition in 1991 and after bone density scan and spinal exray my Dr told me to quit work. I have only read one article, so far, on this site about my condition and it sure doesn't describe what I deal with on a daily basis.
I can only assume that the difference is the article focused on only the lower back having issues, while with me it is through my entire spine.
I suffer constant pain, frequent back spasms, that take my breath away, sciatic symptoms including pain, numbness, tingling and at time my legs refuse to work at all.
We have tried several different medications to help and none have. I currently take nothing on a regular basis.

  • I discovered I have DDD after one of many falls from a horse in my early 40s. As you describe, my DDD is not isolated to one area of my spine.

I have found Spine-healht to be a great source of information and support.

I do hope to see you around the boards! You are not alone Suzy.
