Shaky Legs

What would cause this? I have a lot of lumbar & hip pain, as well as neck issues. I'm getting a neck xray next week & have an appt with my DO about my low back.

The pain is getting worse over time, especially early in the am. I've got burning going on from hips to knees on both sides. My left hip has been a problem for years, but it's so much worse now.

My low back is really hurting. The newest symptom is my legs feel like they are shaking when I'm sitting. It's not visible, just a feeling.

And my feet hurt, especially my right. It feels like the bones are out of place or something.

What would cause the shaky feeling?

  • I'm not sure what's causing the shaking but if you're sitting make sure you have a little rubber maid stool under your feet to take away the strain on your back. I hope the Dr will have more answers for you. Have you had an EMG/nerve test if you have spine issues? TC. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN
  • Have you had an MRI of your lumbar spine yet? Does it hurt worse or feel better if you lean forward?

This is only my experience, but I had severe lower back and hip pain, with pain going down the back of both legs to my knees, kind of like what you're describing.

My problems ended up being facet joint problems and stenosis at L4/5. I'm not in any way saying that you have the same problem, but just wanted you to know that I've experienced your symptoms and was able to get a diagnosis through an MRI. I don't remember having shaky legs, though.

So I'm interested to hear what your DO says about your lumbar spine and what might be the problem. I also wish you luck with getting your cervical diagnosis and that both are something that can be taken care of with conservative measures.

Hang in there and take care of yourself.

  • I'm getting a neck xray & blood work on Monday, seeing my DO on Thurs.

The low back thing has been there for many years but only really escalated in the past few weeks.

  • Is it like mild muscle spasms? I have muscle spasms in my left thigh when I am sitting, especially if I am tired or have overdone it a little that day. It doesn't feel so much like a cramp, more like a tremor.
  • I've been having small spasms in my hips & low back. My legs just feel shaky like weakness.
