Hello! I feel quite relieved to find a forum like this where people will understand how i'm feeling and I can get useful info from.

I'm from the UK and am 32 years old. I had a micro discectomy on the L5-S1 when I was 16 which helped with the chronic sciatic pain at the time but I also had two degenerate discs either side of this one. I always had some pain down my right leg still even after surgery and now I'm having trouble with these discs and have a tear in one. The NHS here are always backed up with waiting lists and i've only just found out about the tear even though its been really bad again since March last year.

I work full time as a Graphic Designer so i'm lucky that my company are letting me work at home (infact i'm supposed to be working now! hehe). I've got a little rig set up over a camp bed in my spare room with a table i can pull over the bed. This means i can carry on working full time because i can't sit for very long. The pain medication makes me really drowsy though so i find it difficult concentrating and often have a little snooze in my lunch break.

Anyway....i'm sick of staying here on my own trying to work in pain. I just wanted to reach out to someone and say hi!

Hi guys!!! The pain isn't really me! you'd find a crazy, creative, rock and country music loving individual under this who is just bursting to get out!

we have many members here who spend a lot of time with computers. i was a programmer and spent 10+ hours a day at the computer. that always caused some spinal discomfort. no matter what environmental setup you use, nothing can take the place of getting up and away from the computer for at least 10 minutes every hour.

can you provide us with a little more profile details regarding your medication condition. the more information we know, the easier it is to respond to your posts.

if you have mri information, medication list, treatments, etc , it would all be helpful

  • Welcome to Spine-Health.

You've found a great place for support and finding others who can relate to your problems.

Ron is right, if you can give us more information on your condition, what treatments you're receiving, etc., we'll have more to talk to you about.

Glad to have you here, although I never like to see a new spiney. Nobody knows what we go through like another spiney.

    Take care,
