I've finally been referred to a GOOD pain management clinic. Any suggestions for questions to ask? Anything I should watch out for? I evidentally really SUCKED at picking my last pain doc, so ANY advice would be great!

  • I'm waiting for my referral to come thru from my DO to PM & don't have any idea what to expect.
  • where things like-
How much of a reduction in my pain levels do you feel would be an acceptable level?
How would you like me to handle any medication problems ?
If I have an unexpected increase in pain ( pain spikes) how would you like to handle that?
    Do you use breakthrough medications?
Are there other modalities that I can use to help manage pain besides oral medications?
Is physical therapy something that you feel would benefit me?
Stuff like that that you might think about after you leave that you really wanted to ask........good luck with your new doctor. Hope that it works out for you.
