Hello people,

I am looking for remedies for my Mom; 65 yr old woman, diagnosed with Moderate to severe Osteopersosis. Recently been to the ER for severe Back pain and all they do is Drug you up, tell you to see your regular doctor and send you on your way. We have done MRI, x ray's that shows that she has more thatn 1 fracture in the L, T region of her spine. Our most recent visit with an Orthoipedic, recomends Kyphoplasty to help relieve the pain...claims 90% of people see a huge improvement; however, of course no guarantee. as for the Osteopersosis, she has taken the Fosamax and Actonel, did not help her to much...she is now being told to go for the stronger med's. Forteo, Reclast; is there, anyone out there that has taken this stuff and does it work. Ha anyone had Kyphoplasty, has it helped. Mom is really scared and Dad is really worried, they are thinking the worst. Please help.

  • My mom has 5 fractures. She did the vertrebroplasty for the first fracture . No relief . She keeps fracturing. The doctors give her pain Medicine. Does not help. We do not know What to do. No help from her doctors. So frustrating. She has to use a cane to walk. This has happened within a years time. She was fine before this.

  • We had a car accident and my hubby bore the brunt with more serious back injury. He was told after a week he has a Inverted Compound fracture of the Spine. Now we did not know whether he has Osteoperosis, he is already on MS Contin, the Doctor says it will heal, how serious is it? As the Doctors would not do an operation of any kind or not even look at it, talked over interenet. What can he do to support it? He was a previous Defence force service in 3 fields in Australia. Please help?
