Neck implants

Well I'm new to the site and I just wanted to share my recent surgery experience, I'm 35 years old and I've played rough most of my life had alot of neck injurys with lead to 2 bulging discs at my c 3an4 and c6an7 and finally 2 ruptured discs at my c4an5 and c5an6 and a slightly fractured 5 vertebra I held off on this surgury as long as my body and mind could take the pain witch was almost 2 years the last 7 months were the hardest and most painful months of my life with nerve tingling and cramping down my left arm and shoulder and left shoulder blade I found the best way to describe it as broken glass under my skin that never stopped cutting, after going on my own from " neck specialist" to "spine specialist" none of which had the same opinion on what I should do besides take more pills or higher does of pills he suggested an implant or implants if nesissary after debating and self research I desided to go with it my insurance company would not cover an implant because they said there hasn't been enough studies done on them or at least that was there excuse the nerosurgen suggested to come over seas with him where they have better implants available I covered the surgery out of my savings it's been a week now and almost all the pain is gone completely still a little tingling in my finger tips but for the most part I feel like I've been given a second chance at a enjoyable life I recommend people research this option if it fits them I also Beleave every case is a little different but the people I spoke with before I had the surgery that had total disc replacements for the most part have had releaf from there pain symptoms if you would like to ask me any details on my injurys or the whole experience I would be more that glad to answer them I feel I owe it to pass my experience on to others and help as many people as I can nobody understands the pain and mental drain unless they have been through it I feel for all of you that are in those shoes now it's no way to live I feel it was a test of my will power because I did hit a point where my life felt very dark with no end in site so I know how bad it can get there is always hope god bless you all

  • Hi there I'm very happy that you got out of your pain. I have neck problems too.. I'm in terrible pain with my neck getting stuck. Every disk gone, severe disk disease at every level of my neck. I am going nuts. No pain meds are helping so far. My family doctor wants me to have nerve block injections and I'm scared of that. The orthopedic doc told me that I was not a candidate for surgery at all.I have not tried any of the heavy narc drugs yet for this pain but I doubt that my family doc will even give them to me.. I am at the end of my rope with this debilitating pain.. Do you have suggestions.. Thanks Darlene Email is sunnygirl46@live.ca Hope to hear from you ..
