Hello, I'm a new member to the forum. I was injured on 6-17-10. I feel pain from my neck to my tailbone, across my hips, down my left leg, in the uppermost part of my theighs. I also feel veins of pain across my shoulder blade, and both arms hurt with prolonged use. On bad days I've had pain up the back of my neck across the sides of my head and down my face. My injuries were sustained on the job so I have to deal with workerscomp, who after almost a year can't even agree on my extent of injury. I have tested positive for numerous disk herniations, facet arthrosis, rediculitis and a bunch of other bad stuff. I'm 29 year old and weigh about 350 lbS, I am trying to loose weight so any info would be a plus. Thanks

  • Sorry to hear about your injury and hope your WC goes through okay. I've struggled with weight issues a long time and with my back injury I can only use my recumbent bike and walk but have done swimming with the Physiotherapist. We're here to support you through this. Take care. Charry

  • First let me say welcome to spine-health. Have a look around and you will find many in the same situation as yourself, unfortunately. You might also want to check out some of the threads in the insurance forum regarding work comp and issues that arise in that arena. As far as the weight loss goes with a spine injury it is imperative that you loose some weight. Have a look in the diet forum and you find many working on diets and you can team up with them on the weight loss. You might find that by loosing some weight that some of your back issues will go away. Keep in mind after the age of 25 everyone's spine will show some degeneration but most aren't symptomatic with those levels. The key is finding which levels are causing you the most pain?

What is your exact diagnoses as to regards of your spine? What type of doctor are you working with? What medication and treatments have you tried thus far?

Just thought I would stop by and welcome you to spine-health. Look forward to reading more of your post.
