Hello all, I have been reading here for years but now need to post.

3 years ago I had 2 level ACDF (C45/56) Everything has been great until 2 months ag. I was diagnosed with DDD and accepted that. Recently new symptoms that are similar to the last episode with added new ones.

Now it is my other arm for the pain and shoulder and headaches starting at the base. But this time after sitting and not for a long time even, I get leg and foot numbness. Once so bad that I fell because I could not del my leg. I also have pain in both legs and random numbness on the bottom of both feet. My ins kicks in next week but wanted to bounce it off of here first.

my question is can adjacent discs maybe C3-4 herniation affect my legs like this. I still have all of the pain in arms and shoulder with the other circus symptoms but this leg thing is new and had me very confused.

Thank you in advance

  • Wow, 110 views and no response. Is there a secret code handshake to get in here?

I'll look to see if this has been answered already by another similar question. Maybe a post acdf one?
  • Sorry to hear you are only 3 years out from your first surgery and having new symptoms. There are a number of problems that could cause your symptoms, but to answer your question, yes, a spinal injury at neck level has the ability to affect your legs. Been there, still there.

  • Sorry to hear you are still there. I do not regret my surgery at all. I guess just wait and see the imaging is what I need to do.
