Haven't been on this board for a long time; although, when I was (after my fusion) it proved to be very helpful.

Four straight days of continual left hand numbness/tingling with occasional numbness sensations in left foot, left arm, and head. Pain in left hand, left arm and right side of collarbone.

Here we go again !! This time I'm going to my ortho right away and hopefully start physical therapy. Unlike last time, when my family doctor told me for over a year that all I had was arthritis and to take ibuprofen !! By the time I figured out what was going on (thanks to this board) it was too late for physical therapy (I tried it, but pain/numbness just got worse.)

Was wondering if any 2nd-time-around neck patients would have any suggestions/comments?

Thanks !!

  • Oh wow....so sorry to hear that Jen. You were on this board before my time. I think it was sometime at the end of 2006 (or maybe begining of 2007) that I joined. I haven't been through a 2nd incident myself, but of course the concern sits in the back of my mind because my brother had a 2nd ACDF about 10 years after the first. He never did any of his exercises and still doesn't so I can't say if it would have prevented anything. :( I'm almost 5 years post-op and keep on exercising hoping I can prevent another one. Only time will tell.

    Take care!
