Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy

Had another visit with my surgeon today to discuss results of discogram and future plan of action. Previously, he was very suspicious that I have a pseudoarthrothis and now he thinks that I may need to undergo a pedicle subtraction osteotomy. The common description of this situation is known as "flatback syndrome."

Can someone tell me something about this?

  • Had this procedure 15 months ago. Now have straight spine. Long recovery!!! Need revision - loose screws to be removed and rods to be trimmed in the near future, Viv
