Reoccurring NervePain

BMWX2BBMWX2 Posts: 17
I had a L5 laminectomy in Feb of this year. My leg pain and foot numbness tingling returned about 3 weeks ago. My NS had prescribed Neurotin which did help but it made me SO spacey that I had to quit taking it. I had an MRI done yesterday and it showed fluid around the nerve head that is causing my pain. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this fluid aroung the nerve? NS said to give it 3 mo and see what happens. Im wondering if anyone has had any luck with a med that doesn't make them spacey? I need to work and be able to process information but at the same time the pain is very distrcting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello, While I have never had fluid around the nerves, I had major nerve pain for a long time and I know a lot about the medications. Lyrica, and Cymbalta are supposed to be good for this as well. You might want to ask for a different med to see if it works.

    Good Luck.
