Can I Buy Another Soft Collar?

I had ACDF two level surgery on May 10. I'm in a soft collar, and I'm allowed to take it off. I have to wear it while on my walks, and while in the car. The weather is getting hot, and with daily perspiration, I'd like to be able to buy a new one so that I can wash the one I have. Can you buy them in a pharmacy? I live three hours away from my surgeon and the hospital where I had surgery... It's sort of a torturous drive at the moment.

  • They are available at most pharmacies, and you can also purchase online.
A soft cotton knee-high sock with the foot cut out makes a good liner to keep the collar clean. And you can get decorative if that is your style. I had a couple of thin white ones that I used, although I also purchased a 2nd soft collar later. My first one was much better qualify and so I preferred using it with the socks.

    Good luck in your recovery.

  • Thank you so much for your response. I think mine came with a sock, but I didn't know what it was in my drug induced state and I threw it away.
